Shattered Pre-Order

Hey all,

Good news! Shattered is now available to pre-order in both hardcover and e-book formats! To make it easy for you, I've put all the links below. :)

BTW in case you were wondering, pre-order is not "pay now, read later." Amazon, etc. will not charge you until the book has shipped. So there's really no downside to pre-ordering!

Why do authors want readers to pre-order? It shows the retailers and the publisher that there is a demand for this title. That readers are excited about its release. A good pre-order can mean a larger print run (more copies!), better distribution to more bookstores, and a bigger marketing budget for the author - maybe even a tour to a city where there's been high pre-orders.

So yeah! All good things! And for readers you often get a better price than if you wait until the book is released. Amazon, for example, offers a pre-order guarantee. If the book gets cheaper after you pre-order it, they'll refund your money. I've gotten great discounts on books this way.

Have I convinced you to take that pre-order step? :) They way I look at it, if you're going to get the book when it comes out anyway, why not?

Here are all the deets on where to pre-order! More to be added when they come up!

Drumroll please...

At long last, here is the gorgeous cover for SHATTERED, book two in the Scorched series! Isn't it gorgeous? The cover artist, Tony Sahara, really outdid himself this time. Emmy looks amazing!! I can't wait for the book to come out in September so I can see it in real life.

In the meantime, check out the blurb below and then go ahead and enter to win a beautiful dragon pendant in honor of this new book!

TRINITY

In only a few short months, her world has changed forever. She’s on the run with Emmy, the last living dragon, and their bond is tested at every turn as their enemies grow ever closer…

CONNOR

SCAVENGER HUNT POST

This year I am hosting the lovely Kay Honeyman, fellow Texan and author of the Fire Horse Girl. And she created a really cool infographic for the book for her special content! Check it out below.

Kay Honeyman grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and attended Baylor University, graduating with a Bachelors and Masters in English Language and Literature. Her first novel, The Fire Horse Girl, comes out in January 2013. It is being published by Arthur A. Levine/Scholastic. She currently teaches middle school and lives in Dallas, Texas.

Jade Moon is a Fire Horse -- the worst sign in the Chinese zodiac for girls, said to make them stubborn, willful, and far too imaginative. But while her family despairs of marrying her off, she has a passionate heart and powerful dreams, and wants only to find a way to make them come true.

Then a young man named Sterling Promise comes to their village to offer Jade Moon and her father a chance to go to America. While Sterling Promise's smooth manners couldn't be more different from her own impulsive nature, Jade Moon falls in love with him on the long voyage. But America in 1923 doesn't want to admit many Chinese, and when they are detained at Angel Island, the "Ellis Island of the West," she discovers a betrayal that destroys all her dreams. To get into America, much less survive there, Jade Moon will have to use all her stubbornness and will to break a new path . . . one as brave and dangerous as only a Fire Horse girl can imagine.

Pretty cool, huh? Now I want my own.

And don’t forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of signed books by me, Kay Honeyman, and more! To enter, you need to know that my favorite number is 7. Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the blue team and you’ll have all the secret code to enter for the grand prize!

CONTINUE THE HUNT

To keep going on your quest for the hunt, you need to check out the next author: Lynne Matson!

And hey, while you’re here, how about you enter to win a POP figurine of everyone’s favorite MOTHER OF DRAGONS!  (US only for this one, sorry!)

While you're waiting for SHATTERED...

Hey all,

First of all - THANK YOU - for all the Scorched love. I'm so excited that everyone's been loving the book so much. Even six months after its release I'm still seeing great sales and feedback and I feel like we're just at the beginning of the awesome. VERY, VERY SOON we will be revealing the cover to SHATTERED. Wait 'till you see it!! If you thought the Scorched cover was cool...

Also, some very cool news - Brilliance Audio has licensed the rights to ALL THREE Scorched books. So if you enjoy listening to audiobooks like me - this is great news! I don't have a date on when they'll be released...my guess is in line with the paperback of Scorched which comes out in September.

Also good news - Scholastic Book Club/Fairs has licensed the rights to Scorched as well, meaning that they will be putting out their own paperback version, starting in August when school gets back into session. This will be a less expensive version that will be sold in schools all over the country. I'm SUPER EXCITED about this as it will get the book into the hands of tons of kids who might not be able to afford the more expensive hardcover edition. AND the timing couldn't be more perfect with Shattered launching September 1st.

Lastly, since I know September 1st is SO SO SO far away, I wanted to point you all in the direction of a similar book I wrote that you might not have heard of. Something to tide you over until you can get more dragons. This one is called TOMORROW LAND and it takes place just before and just after a zombie apocalypse. The cover was done by Tony Sahara, who also did the Scorched series covers.

Tomorrow Land is only $3.99 on ebook and $8.99 for the paperback. I hope you will check it out!!

Can true love survive the end of the world?

Imagine finding your first love, only to be ripped apart by the apocalypse. Peyton Anderson will never forget the day she was forced to make a choice--between her family--and Chris Parker, the boy she'd given her heart. Now, four years later, as she steps from the fallout shelter and into a dead and broken world, he's the only thing on her mind.

All Chris "Chase" Parker wanted was to take Peyton away and keep her safe from harm. But he waited for hours in the rain on judgment day and she never showed--breaking his heart without ever telling him why.

Now the two of them have been thrown together once again, reluctant chaperones to a group of orphan children in a post-apocalyptic world where the dead still walk...and feed. As they begin their pilgramage to the last human outpost on Earth, can they find a way to let go of old hurts and find the love they lost--all while attempting to save what's left of the human race?

Missing the Blood Coven? How about a deleted scene?

Hey all,

Since I know a lot of you are still mourning the end of my Blood Coven Vampire series, I thought I'd dig back into my files and offer up a special treat! A deleted scene that was originally written for Soul Bound that never made it into the book!

I hope you enjoy it! And, in the meantime, if you're a Wattpad member, please consider following me there! I have plans for a whole bunch of awesome Wattpad stuff in the very near future!!

But for now, I'll let Rayne take it away!!
